Ori and The Blind Forest Definitive Edition Review

Ori and The Blind Forest Definitive Edition Review

Originally developers promised that DLC would come to the game turned out the shelved that and decided to release a new version of the game, while i feel that DLC release would have reduced backslash for this slightly (I guess Microsoft and Moon Studios wanted a quick cash grab too).

However for $5 you can upgrade your normal version to better one. This deal is rather good and good price, anything above it would be close to a ripoff. Buy the game here http://store.steampowered.com/app/387290/

The forest of Nibel is dying. After a powerful storm sets a series of devastating events in motion, an unlikely hero must journey to find his courage and confront a dark nemesis to save his home. “Ori and the Blind Forest” tells the tale of a young orphan destined for heroics, through a visually stunning action-platformer crafted by Moon Studios for PC. Featuring hand-painted artwork, meticulously animated character performance, and a fully orchestrated score, “Ori and the Blind Forest” explores a deeply emotional story about love and sacrifice, and the hope that exists in us all.

Here is what you get with Definitive Edition

  • Two New Abilities to use Dash & Light Burst
  • Two New Zones that discover the Story of Naru & his father (Approximately 1h of new content)
  • Teleport system that lets you travel between the points
  • New music for the new zones
  • Theater mode that lets you view cutscenes, making of stuff, concept art and trailers/previews
  • New Secret areas (Not that many, unless i missed few or didnt remember additions)
  • One life mode (If you die, its game over) great for speedrun and hardcore players

To Summarize for people who haven´t played the normal version of the game before Ori and the blind forest offers very high quality soundtrack, great story told by text and emotions with challenging gameplay in a Metroidvania type of a setting. You get new abilities and levels as you progress throughout the game and explore new hidden areas and continue Ori´s journey. More detailed info in the video itself
